Time to leave Glasgow and start exploring the rest of the country. What a beautiful day it turned out to be. Brilliant blue skies met an incredible variety of shades of green and you had a masterpiece. The temperature was as high as 19. It just doesn’t get any better.
Our first stop was in a charming little village called Luss where you could walk out to see the blues of Loch or lake Lomond. It is 25 miles long, a quarter the length of Okanagan! The water was glistening and very still. The little homes were so charming.

Tom, our guide, who is constantly being asked for a photo, wonder why? |
We then continued on to Inveraray to visit the castle and town. The castle is home to the Duke of Argyll. The main rooms are beautifully refurnished for people to explore. The family still resides here some of the time. The gardens and lawns are perfectly kept - not a weed in that lawn!

From there we visited the town itself. Most buildings are white and very quaint. It sits along Loch Fyne and is a beautiful view on a sunny day. Look for the old bridge in the background.
Next was a drive through Kilmartin Glen. More lovely views leading us to a stop to see some standing stones. They continue to be a mystery - why were they put there. Close by were also a number of stone walls, very similar to those we saw in Ireland.
And then we arrived at our destination, Oban, a small town along a bay, all part of the Atlantic Ocean.
