After a few full days we had the opportunity to relax in the morning and enjoy the charming little town of Oban. Located on a bay of the Atlantic Ocean it has a lovely walk along the water to town where there are so many beautiful old buildings and interesting shops. The Oban Chocolates were to die for!

The ferry ride was smooth and even though it was cloudy it was nice enough to sit outside on the way over, not so much on the way back as our weather luck turned. Not sure what the ferry worker was talking about when he looked at our group sitting around with scotch and wine and said “This looks like trouble”. Now we think that’s what he said although trouble didn’t really sound like trouble. All great fun!
Once we arrived on the Isle of Mull it was a bus ride across the island to another smaller 10 min ferry to the Isle of Iona. The drive was an experience - very narrow road with hundreds of ‘passing places’ or pull outs. There were many times either a car or the bus were backing up to make room to pass. Clearly no pic stops on this road until we had to sop for the hairy coos who were strolling beside and on the road. Hard to get pics through the glass winters without glare.M
The abbey on the island is beautiful and we arrived at the right time to hear an amazing Celtic Choir singing. The Celtic across in front is 1200 years old. Lots of fishing in the area and traps for crabs and lobsters.
