Not surprising, but the west coast of Vancouver Island was an absolute beautiful spot even in the rain. Ok the day out on the water in the rain was pretty chilly but provided a few good laughs as we walked the couple of blocks to the harbour in our bulky, bright orange wet suits!
Lots of opportunities for walks - on the beaches, the trails and of course through some lovely forested areas. The best day was definitely in Ucluelet along the Wild Pacific Way - beautiful blue skies and lovely waters below, although they did look cold.
More walks through wonderfully green forests.
Long Beach lived up to its name and you could walk forever. Chesterman Beach was located close to our log chalet. Another great walking beach, even in the mist!
A visit to the spa was a must. We found a delightful one at the botanical gardens. The spa was in a tent along the water, so peaceful and relaxing. The gardens, well interesting! There was not a lot to look at for flowers but the walk to the water was beautiful and of course the strange sculptures added color and interest.
Fun eating experiences including fish tacos from the food truck - waiting in the pouring rain, to burgers around the fire pit and a few stops for chocolates and ice cream.
